Or you could take your chances on the main line with the powdered carbohydrate of the day and whatever mystery circus animal happened to be available to pulverize. Day after day after day after day.

The Guam had more than decent food, pretty much every Friday the Filipinos would cook up something special for us so it was a spicy treat.. I remember once looking at the milk carton when we were steaming fast up to the Black Sea and thinking it was remarkable irradiated milk had a 10 yr expiration period... Still ate it tho... washed down my powdered eggs with it but it still wasn't as bad as the Austin...

Sorry Angle, Lost myself there. Living in my adopted country of Norway, I get homesick for the rest of the world sometimes. Nobody would want to steal the food from here. Unless you want to nick a potato and a piece of dried cod. Norway really is a culinary wasteland.

Yeah pork is big out here, pitty the same can`t be said for Lamb, the germans just don`t eat it. It is a real nightmare to get, almost to the point that you nearly allways have to go to a Turk to get it
Lamb is nice. I eat that more than anything. Cheap here because only the Iranians and Turks have butcher shops anymore. Pork is a big "no no" for my diet. But on those special occasions, like Christmas here, I do gorge.

I have managed to travel a lot. I miss food from all over. If I won the lottery I would have to spend some of that cash traveling just to have good food again. Greek food... Italian, Fish an Chips from OZ bbq Eel in NZ. Some good stuff.
Hmmmm. World food tour. I'm in. Kobe beef and abalone has to be on the list. There is a place in Japan I know. Abalone looks like snot, but it is oh so good. I think Jimmy may get it down his way.
ya have the feeling we could probably compose a cookbook of the worlds greatest dishes between all of us.. there's only a few things a service member likes anywhere near like women and that is food.. and a good drink..
I think for me it was the Reuben style sandwich I had in Germany... The Pasta PrimaVera in Sicily... very unique flavor to their sauce there, it's the zucchini.. The Shishlik in Israel (gyro basically) along with the Falafel.. I really don't remember eating anything in Spain... that's where they had $5 Stolichnaya Vodka lol... Morocco I kinda toughed it out.. ate candy mostly... that was a horribly dirty place... So much for CasaBlanca the movie huh?
The chicken a la king from the MRE's was the shiznit tho... when it wasnt ship food or liberty food I woulda traded a carton of smokes for that...
after Hurricanes Ike and Rita down here I kinda thnk they don't make that anymore... we ate a lot of them then too and I would go door to door to neighbors houses looking for it but no luck...

Flake (Gummy Shark) and chips is what I grew up on.
Now I catch Reef fish and Barramundi.
Flake is the best fish for fish and chips. Absolutely the flippin best! God I miss that Jimmy. And getting chicken salt on your chips...tasted more like chicken than the chicken at KFC.
