Forums for shared communication between therapist and me

Hi everyone, .

I'm looking for an app, or shared platform, to use between therapy sessions with my therapist.

Part of the difficulty for me right now, as a result of my dissociative disorder, is pretty bad amnesia. I do forget session content and more importantly I forget the states I move in and out of between sessions. Which means I can't communicate effectively about those states / parts of me to my therapist because I can't access them. I've only had one session where another part fronted more obviously but other than that, I'm constantly frustrated that I can't bring to session what I'm experiencing in between sessions. So T never gets the full picture. And not all parts of me have their needs addressed. Etc etc.

So, with the app, I'm hoping to find something we can both log into and use to see the same document or information. I don't know how to structure the information but T needs to write a weekly paragraph of what we did/ agreed in session. And I need to write about whatever comes up in between. Could be a daily diary. Could be from a part's perspective (this is harder as I still don't see my parts in distinct identities).

I tried joplin, but the only way to share it is through email or WhatsApp or messenger etc. I'm more looking for a shared page where you both log in and see the same thing.

If that makes sense?

Ah nice to hear from you too @Midnightmoon ! Hope things are going a bit better for you

@somerandomguy the security on Google docs isn't good enough I don't think... wouldn't want it linking to my Google drive and account I don't think... but thanks for the suggestion

Yes! Not a bad idea! I could do that...

I will if there's no other way to link it to all my other accounts...

My issue is, I live with others who could potentially find my journal (including my son who is a child). I can also mislay things and I have, in the past, left things around I've written which other people have read. I'm also paranoid about dying and others having access to it (my partner died unexpectedly 10 weeks ago, so although it sounds far fetched, I've experienced how a scenario like that can actually happen). Also, my T is online only. So these are all reasons I need an electronic / online space. My T will also communicate with me that way, so we agreed on a shared platform. We just aren't sure which/ how?

When I was going through trauma therapy I used Penzu (an online journaling app) and I shared entries with my T.

It's read only for the person receiving the entry but if you both have the login info your T could respond or make their own entries...

Thanks @Jade- ... yes this is the type of thing I've been looking for... I'll have a go with it.. can I ask, do you pay for a more advanced version? And if so, what do the features help you with? 🙏

Thank you!

Think I'll try the free version first... if I need the extra features, I'll think about paying the pro. Works out at about £1.80 a month, so not too bad!
