Where did I say I wanted to eradicate Islam? I don't care what they're doing as long as they're doing it in their own countries. I don't applaud it, but it's good enough for me to have them out of the West.
I understand you want to ban Islam and Muslims from the west. That's what I'm referring to.

ISIS has issued an "handbook" that instructed it's members to pretend to be Christian. (Link Removed)

Are we going to now ban all Christians too? Honest question. Because that's another religion ISIS is planning to misuse to kill people.

Why stop there?
Why would it be a thing that would make people afraid or angry if it's something we should do again and would have "no negative impact" on our nations?
I agree that a temporary ban of immigration from countries with terrorist ties would be relevant. Until we have a way to vet the immigrants, then we do not know if they are a peace loving muslim, or a member of isis, or another terrorist group. Jimmy Carter imposed a ban on immigtation for Iran during the Iranian hostage crisis to protect American citizens.
I used to agree with this fully because the focus is on ties to terrorism. It made sense for a temp ban against Iran immigrants for a very short season. But, Carter's actions were about more than simply protecting American citizens. It was a way to punish Iranians and to try to pressure them in giving the hostages back. Iran was no less of a danger to us when they released the hostages and lifted the ban on immigrants. The leaders still regularly call for our destruction. The ban didn't actually change the risk to the US, and we didn't keep it in place.

It used to be the case that only a few countries had ties to ISIS. Now it's pretty much possible it could be anyone from any country professing to be of any faith. They advanced and outsmarted us long ago on that. They now expect us to be looking for Muslims to be possible members of ISIS. So they plan to pretend to be of other faiths coming from other countries.

I agree that we absolutely should vet immigrants much better than we do, along with more secure borders. That's different than a full ban on people on the basis of religion alone. There are Muslims and members of ISIS in every country. They caught people in my own state who were US citizens who were members of ISIS.

We have to find other tools.

We have to find ways to work together and unite with each other.

Edited to add: this means unite with each other. Like as in the people the is forum. Because we are not listening o each other well. I am NOT referring to uniting with ISIS.

It's self evident that people who died in Nice would still be living if there were no Muslim immigration allowed in France
This we are not sure about yet. Yes it is true that he was born in Tunisia, but I have not yet seen where is says how long he has been in France. It seems that he was just recently radicalized. ISIS is claiming responsibility, but as of the latest news, that has not been confirmed.

So let the body count rack up while we wait for a flawless solution to present itself.

We have to find ways to work together and unite with each other.
Radical Muslims are never going to be interested in uniting with you. What don't you understand about that? Stop worrying about stepping on people's toes and start worrying about saving your own skin.

Maybe this will be a way to force those countries to become pro-active in stopping terrorism.

Wow. If you really think I want to unite with ISIS, then you are failing to read anything that I have written. Even implying this is insulting and unfair. I will not continue to discuss this issue any further with you because you are not engaged in discussion. It's just ad hominem attack after ad hoiminem attack from you and it's not productive.

Wow. If you really think I want to unite with ISIS,
I don't think that @Dana1010 is implying you want to join ISIS. The statement indicates that ISIS would not be willing to sit down with anyone and discuss an peaceful co-existence, so attempting to bring everyone together to unite would not work.
Unfortunately groups like ISIS cannot be negotiated with.

France shut down three mosques (I read the news today oh boy) and confiscated over 200 weapons "war grade" by their description. I think that whilst we parse words, they may be onto something.

I don't remember what thread it was but I questioned at one point the disproportionate immigration of Sunni rather than Shia, and other sects, some of which were being actively persecuted in their own regions, yeah including but not limited to Christians Dana... it' wasn't well received here. At all. I hear you though.

Admin talking: I don't give a shit if someone wants to say all Muslims should be rounded up and put on their own island under a security dome. That's an opinion, without any facts masquerading as truths. Opine away.

Saying that Islam is a trans-national cult masquerading as a religion - Without providing any source, any citation - is just hate-mongering.

Saying that there are over a billio n Muslims in the world and they all want non-Muslims dead, because they are all ultimately ISIS - that's hate-mongering.

Those posts were deleted.

Anyone on the thread: If you want to sling opinions, call them opinions. If you want to defend them as fact, bring some facts to bear. Get specific. Refer to radical Muslims vs conservative. Use your words. Use some f*cking detail and common f*cking sense. Because "all Muslims are bad" is nothing but hate speech.

Apparently, reasonable language only motivates sarcastic bullshit from you, @The Albatross - so I'm gonna talk your preferred talk.

You said yourself: pre 9/11, on a global board, a group of people debated the specific question of whether or not Islam was a religion or a front for terrorism.

Good for you. Last I checked this was MyPTSD, we weren't all part of that conversation, and it's 2016. So - you don't just get to do drive-by hate speech. Take the time to articulate a thought, with some context - or go fly your propaganda somewhere else.

And you thinking this board has gone soft on political debate? It's not debate when it's just talk without facts. That, sister, is bullshit.

Posts have gotten more contextual since the first 2 pages. So, keep it up.

Debate away.

Expecting me to have documentation of think tank dialogue on a multi national/multi ethnic and religious forum I participated in before 9/11... and 2 PC's ago is also bull shit... go on baby, ya know ya want to and I'm f*cking ready.
