I’m getting some moon flowers meaning a few of the seeds have sprouted. I planted over 100 and I did a second batch after nothing came up after a month . So I was weeding and looked for them which is hard if they don’t come right up because these aren’t in a box so the weeds and grass are coming up too. But I had my nose down in them and I spotted one, it had to have been up a couple days . It’s exciting the sprout was unmistakable. Then I spotted at least two more. Something’s eating them but I have slug repellent down and I sprayed a couple times. I’ve never done night blooming flowers.

Blargh… the stench of early watercress.

It could be the cure to cancer, but watercress seeds will NEVER be microgreens, as baby watercress smells like RECOIL. Mature watercress smells like heaven. But seeds/seedlings/sprouts smell like NO!

@Mach123 is it the datura? Which variety did you get? Are they from that specimen you found growing? Mine are popping! Especially in this last full moon.

So nice! Unfortunately none of the ones from last year came back but I got a couple different varieties from eBay sellers , yes datura. I also got night blooming morning glories referred to as moon flowers so hopefully we will be blooming around the clock.

My garden pics are mostly the same because I do a lot of the same things every year and I’m slowly moving to perennials and lots of stuff just comes back out is the compost .

But I have some new flowers and the wildflower lawns are SO nice this year . That knife is coming today I’m looking foreword to it I’m moving things around . Practicing transplants without killing them. I lost a lot of stuff this year but I bought a lot of stuff, twice my normal yearly gardening bill. Plus I put weed block down so I have paths of a sort through the flowers .

The weather has been nice showers and clouds. Only a handful of real beach days so far. Very humid jungle like. Perfect for the plants .

Every year is different. Last year I screwed up and had mostly weeds lol. So far the moisture and sun have been balanced so everything is doing ok. Ty it’s very therapeutic.

So here is my giant Labourd 3 or 4 years old I got it in a little pot it was about 5 invented high my question is how to propagate? It seems to need help. I know if I wound the branches on the ground and bury them my forsythia makes plants it even spreads on its own I’m pretty sure so I got 4 lavender this year and all dies but 1 and that’s on its last legs . How do I get new plants I can spread all over the yard ? I haven’t looked on Amazon yet for live ones lol. If they have them and they’re cheap enuf I’ll buy a few more but I don’t have a lot of time left they have to get established before fall.

not the best pics but I was trying to show it looks like it wants to spread the way it’s resting on the ground as it spreads but it doesn’t root? It’s mostly off the weed barrier lol I know it won’t root though that

Lavender have always been finicky for me (like will grow amazingly and then out of nowhere just die) and propagation seems really difficult! I haven’t even been able to grow them from seed.

I can get two live plants on Amazon for twenty bucks lol. I’ve been looking at Home Depot and the garden shop I frequent but I tend to stop looking this time of year I’ve got enough. Do you mean rooting hormone ? It looks like I wrote I was trying to clone my Labrador lol. I’ve been doing this with the lavender a few years and it is a pain in the ass I started hundreds of seeds and didn’t get anything and last year I rooted a few mid summer from cuttings and got them started and none came back this spring.

It’s been a great year so far here. We got a nice shower last night if that just keeps up I’m golden . I have to drop my daughter off this morning I better just stop at the plant store lol. I need tomato stakes .

I just used my points and bought 3 plants on Amazon which I’ve never done . I’m excited . Ive become a garden addict . Not surprised.
