Gardening

The forsythia hedge is coming along saving me from the next door neighbors. We have catnip from last year , looks like and couple lavender actually made it . The moon flowers aren’t coming back but I jave thousands of seeds .if any are good still there were some mold issues from the pods . It’s way too much work but I sure done cool things I dug out sll
Under the fence to stop weeds and I switched the lawn to clover /‘s included in front of the fence I tilled it all by hand with my pick axe . Pay no attention to my little visitor in the hole, it was inactive but since I saw it I’ve taken steps . They love to eat those little green blocks which decreases the surplus population.

Well I’ve done more than I thought I would or I intended . The things I try to do have not gone very well however I’m realizing that if I just leave them alone and cut the weeds back, you know nobody’s really gonna notice but me. They’re gonna probably stay where the flowers and all the other stuff because I just didn’t do it this year. I kept a record of seeds though. I kept all the packages. And I bought a few plants. But I’m really trying to go for perennials everywhere. I don’t wanna deal with it and I don’t wanna water anything. I don’t mind doing a little bit. The hedges are killing me. I know why my wife likes them the way they are. It is cool and you can hide behind them on front porch is like hidden now behind a beautiful gigantic hedge, but you have to trim it and it’s way harder than I thought it was gonna be to try and keep up with that. The robin is building a nest there for the second round of eggs. It’s right outside the front door and my wife sleeps right there she’s not going to be happy about the red Red Robin belting out his song before sunrise. I did end up throwing all my moonflower seeds on “the dune” down the beach I hope lots of them grow . I’m still shocked I found them there . Right at the high water mark in fact the plant where I first got the seeds was washed away by the flood. It must’ve been there a couple months at least because it had seeded . There are a few in the yard in spite of my efforts to keep them from seeding . They’ll probably always grow around the neighborhood now .

My spring regime sorta failed and I had a plan today. Since the YouTube algorithm can hear you mine heard me and started suggesting planting perennials in July. Well I’m excited . The whole idea was to plant perennials and not water but the mistake I made was I planted about 12 packages of seeds out of which I got no plants whatsoever and I returned them all to Home Depot today. Or I couldn’t re turn the seeds. But I walked in there with the seed packages and she looked them up on my credit card and gave me back the money because I didn’t have the receipt which is really unusual cause I save every single receipt compulsively.. anyway they had a rack at Home Depot and they had a rack at Lowe’s of bulbs that were 50% off and they took them away this week. I guess when I decided to do this so now I have to order some stuff on Amazon that’s OK. I found some videos that made a bunch of suggestions about perfect plants and it was full of really good information and you know I just have to get a few more bulbs and I’m really in pretty good shape for this year. Nothing spectacular like a few years ago with the pumpkins and the sunflowers and I’ll let jazz but that’s fine. It was all too much work anyway. It was beautiful though. Plus, they don’t want us to water this year anymore so yeah I wanna do perennials like I have Iris you know out of my front yard and they do wonderfully every year and I never have to do a single thing same thing with the day lollies come up every year and they put on a great show and you never have to do anything so yeah that’s what I’m trying to do. Finish the yard off with things just like that and I was very excited to learn that July is not too late to plant a lot of these things. It’s actually better because the soil is warm at least that’s what the video said.
