Well, this year didn’t go so well. I didn’t get any clover or I mean some you know but it’s mostly grass and weeds so basically I just have a lawn mow. I bought a whole bag of mixed bulbs and put them in way too randomly I should have bunched them all together. I’ll probably do that in the fall. The problem is I can’t tell a weed from a plant except in some cases when they come up like the day Lillie’s are obvious.
Edit next day
All of the upcoming chores haunt me I would go so far as to say I don’t know what to say. It’s just like I have a cracked board you know on the porch in the house and like I think about it day and night and every time I pull in the driveway it’s the only thing I can see in. It drives me crazy. Of course my wife keeps me apprised with hints on what needs to be done. Very helpful. It’s like when the lawn gets to be too high.
This particular story is about a bush that’s outside my cellar door. Any of you who have looked at my garden photos have seen it last year. It was behind the moon flowers, which were really huge about 6 feet high but anyway the thing that grows about 2 feet a week. Exaggeration. But it grows fast. So my wife decided that she had to have a little trellis out there and the bush right next to it and oh you know it provides privacy. The neighbors can’t see it and all this shit but I have to climb up a ladder to do this with the hedge clipper, which is dangerous and the ladder is very heavy and I keep telling her over and over again I can’t do these things anymore. You wouldn’t believe me my wife called me into not ever having to put supper on the table. If she didn’t feel like it I let her get away with it. We don’t have regular meals. It destroyed our family in one way, but it’s part of the food sickness and I have to be I have to be considerate of addicts.
Anyway, I was in a funny mood when I was coming home yesterday, and my daughter was bugging the shit out of me and I thought you know what I can get out of the car and take that bush to pieces and then take a shower. That’s a lot of energy for later in the afternoon for me you know what a lot of times I get in bed like 3 o’clock.
But I came home and I put on a pair of shorts and I got my hedge clippers and my saws all and I cut that f*cking thing down to a knob. I still have to take care of all the stuff that I cut off it, but I have to say I hope I don’t have to do anything to it now until next year. It’s basically nothing left but branches but believe me within two weeks it’ll be completely covered with leaves again. I hate that thing.
