Gd Neighbors

I went next door to ask the neighbors to turn down their music, again. This time it got hostile. The dude steps out and say's who the hell are you to tell us what we can do. He's yelling right in my face like an inch away with food in his mouth and splattering me with that and spit. So I have that on my face and I'm spitting down toward the ground because it's in my eyes, and all over my face including my mouth.

Then he goes on asking me what time quiet time is time and again. I just said read the GD CCR's. Turns out where we live there's also an all day noise ordinance.

So I'm trying to walk away and he stays in my face blocking me and he towers over me. I keep walking not wanting to get in a fight. Anyway we get out to the the sidewalk and he shoves me to the ground. For cryin out loud I'm 65 and have heart disease as well as having to deal with this crap. I'm pretty ticked off now and said OK that's assault and I'm calling the cops which I did. They took a report talked to them and they were acting like they're the victims. There's all night parties over there, screaming kids, loud music, yellin and on and on and on. I told the cops that they have a gun as well. AFter the cops left the music is quiet but the partying continued until about 1 AM.

I declined to press charges and just asked the cop to tell them to cool it.

It's just my wife and I and I'll tell ya we are fed up. Gonna have to move just because of them, like their neighbor on the other side recently did.

I wish I were your neighbor, Brother, don't give a shit how big this pos is. I guess you have more self control than I do, I would've gone to jail probably. You took the right course of action. It's a GD shame that we cant live in peace with the fn sheep we fought to protect..Just remember Brother Karma is a bitch..hope everything settles down. In the mean time, well done not blowing that pos away.:)

Municipalities usually have an ordinance that loud music and parties end at 10:00 on weekdays and 11:00 on weekends. Some even get into how many decibels are allowed. There is usually a designation from the court that can make your neighbor a "nuisance." Once that designation is given, they can be fined for every instance of loud noise no matter the time of day. But the question is: do want to go that far especially with PTSD. It can break you. Good luck.

Next time you go knock on someone's door carry some pepper spray. I have the same problem at times. I just call the police and ask for a "drive by." That usually ends it.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Right now I feel like crap with only an hour or two sleep because of this and I'm sure you're all aware how lack of sleep feels.

Seems like you've got a couple of choices here. Having been there myself with f*ckin' neighbors. First one is to do what you really feel like and go to jail. Second one, call the police every single time they violate the law. Press charges, take them to court. Eventually the cops will get really tough with them and if they are stupid, which I'm sure they are, they'll get arrested. If it costs them money, it will give them food for thought.

I'll be 68 and I can tell ya' if someone put their hand on me they'd draw back a stump. I'm old and this is just me sayin'. I went the legal/police route with a f*cked up neighbor doin' the same shit as your are and now he leaves me be. Of course I did move on him so he knew I was serious about hurting him. At 68, dude I don't want to go to jail. Like yours those people don't have a clue what they're messin' with.

Try not to let it get you down, it's really worse for you. If you rent your place moving might be an option. The reality is, though, that the next place could have neighbors the same or worse. Best of luck and I hope it get better for ya'.

Thanks JarHed and as for "if they are stupid" I'll just say that this guy had the gall to ask us to pay for the material for some landscaping & grading work that he needs so the water wouldn't flood our side of the fence like it does. Yeah right I'm going to pay for that. I will say that if he doesn't correct it then we may end up in court one way or another anyway.

We recently refinanced our house with a VA loan. We fully intended to occupy this place as our primary residence before this problem worsened. Now we feel like we have to move. Does anyone know where I can get advice on getting around that little stipulation of "primary residence" if we have to rent this place and move?

This sucks. I think I would wage a spyops campaign on this dickhead.

You need to talk to a lending officer at your financial institution. He could give you some pointers with what you need or can do. I know the VA load in this situation is sort of a PITA because it can prevent you from another home purchase.
