Getting A Service Dog.

Had to get a blood test done this morning, and took doggo along...because that's how we roll. Thought of you. Having back up to do all the things that you currently have to face alone, all the time with a doggo that will love you to bits and do anything to make you happy.

Life is good with a dog. Still putting a smile on my face knowing yours is in the mail:)

I'm very fortunate I keep having to remind myself that this is going to happen in a few short weeks.

I don't know why someone else had to lose for me to receive. That breaks my heart.

Little K just wants to stop traveling around the country I'd imagine!
She'll be even more adept at air travel than B was!

I've been seeing beagles everywhere!

Does that happen to anyone else? it's got a name when this happens. My brain is so stupid! But honesty they're everywhere. !! :)
Yet before I received B I don't I could have told you if there was a Beagle in the country!??

Baader-Meinhof phenomenon?

I don't know why someone else had to lose for me to receive. That breaks my heart.
Try look at it this way: if Bos makes a full recovery, someone else may be benefiting from that loss of yours.

Circle of life, and all that.
K not working out for someone else does not, in any way, take away from how deserving you are of this to happen.

It truly warms my heart to hear (read?) the excitement and hope once again in your words, b.

Thanks @bellbird yes it's the circle of life, I agree. Keeps going round so I'm grateful that it does too. Sometimes it brings things we need & other's, it takes too. I've seen that especially this last year in a number of ways.

I'm guessing it won't bother me when I'm dead? For sure!

Well I know she's coming from a fire prone region & going to live in one too. I need her help so much right now.

I'm a little anxious that she may become unwell like B did. I'm thinking about anything that I might still need to do to eliminate risk. But it's a pointless exercise in practical terms & mentality tiring too.

Though I've got plenty to occupy my mind right now I'm still counting down the days. Waiting to hear from the trainer too

Oh I've got her as a screen saver on my laptop so I'm seeing her frequently. It helps me tackle the next job on my list

I'm now applying to the NDIS - God save me! :banghead: :hilarious:  in that order too. Still laughing hysterically at the process. How did you even survive it? Did you have someone help you to work through all of the forms?

I'm told by my doctors that I'm eligible and should apply. Actually they told me this when they rolled it out but well.....??

How did you even survive it?
I haven't technically survived it yet! I've got approved funding for a stack of stuff, but now have to reach out to all of those people/organisations and ask for their help. Which is a process all in itself!

I had to put in an appeal. I think there may be a lot of initial "decline it and hope they shut up" going on. If your doctor says you meet the criteria? Then just keep ploughing on. People I know who were already receiving services from approved organisations had a much easier time of it.

But FYI - even though I had to appeal, I didn't provide one shred of my extensive medical records. So, it can be done without them!

I also still have to apply for a review at some point, because they've approved a whole lotta stuff that I'm just not gonna use (cleaners, gardeners, taxis, etc ffs!), they haven't approved expenses related to my dog...because the ndis woman who submitted my plan simply didn't ask for any (wtf!?).

Definitely stick with it, because there's a heap of useful stuff that I should now be getting (as soon as I summon up the courage to ask), but keep a brick wall handy so that when you have those special 'ndis moments', you can:banghead:
