Going Back To Work After Ptsd

It will take time to build that working muscle up again. You are sticking with it which is brave. It doesn't matter if you come home and fall apart - it is good to let that out. It is turning up each day and doing it. I admire you for doing this.

I hope you are doing lots of self care to bolster yourself up.

Hey @Notsowild I also just returned to work with PTSD, I am working @ a call center and it can be very stressful as is... Adding PTSD to the mix can get overwhelming!! I had been off From October to January regularly attending therapy and reading Feeling Good by Dr. David Burns.

I was very nervous to go back at first but realized that with all the CBT I had done that I was more ready then I had thought, thanks to the book I read and therapy I attended I now have the ability to better handle stressful situations. I will not lie there are a few moments that I still find overwhelming but in those moments I step outside for 10 minutes ( alone is the key for me) and breath analyse the situation and rationalize my thoughts, it helps me a lot.

If you need someone to talk to about getting back to work I would be more then happy to share my experiences with you, feel free to message me and I will do my best to help you with any tips I may have :) Stay strong and do what is right for you, if you are not ready and you T has confirmed you are not ready then I would look into disability until you are ready, forcing yourself to go back to work when you are not ready will only hinder your efforts on getting better if your job is a stressful environment.

Sorry for the late reply,

Meghan :)
