Going On Strike!

I have been working on processing memories for about a year now. And I am fed up, disgusted, and displeased because my mind coughed up another repressed memory last night!

How am I ever expected to get done with this process if my mind keeps coming up with NEW memories faster than I can handle the OLD ones?!?

Is this FAIR?!? I think NOT!

I have decided I'm going on strike. I refuse to have PTSD any more until my demands are met:

  • No more nightmares! (Enough with the creepy rapist stalker dreams, already. I got the point about ten years ago.)
  • No new memories!
  • All symptoms WILL respond to therapy after a reasonable number of days/ attempts!
  • No more bad days for no reason at all!

and

  • No more sideffects! Being on medication is crummy enough without having to deal with side effects.

Surely if enough of us strike, our demands will be heard...
..... down with PTSD! :tdown::tdown::tdown:

Also, I want to get payed better for doing this high-risk job of having PTSD! I've already sustained numerous physical injuries and came close to kicking the bucket due to unsafe working conditions!

Also, fair compensation for nights, weekends, holidays and every single job call during vacations!

And I want a f*king dental plan.

No, not hair. I don't take medication, but have a skin condition that reacts to stress, thins my hair and means I have to wear stupid hats in the summer:eek:

I'm with you all the way Angel2write:)

And the holidays are just ridiculous. Unless an increase in annual leave from PTSD symptoms is approved, there will be no option other than to withdraw our ongoing service to society. Areas which may be affected include:

A decrease in making allowances for those who are insensitive or discriminatory against us;
An increase in speaking out against the evils of childhood abuse, so that those who choose to pretend it doesn't exist have no option other than to confront it;
A decreased tolerance for retraumatisation by abusers, thus requiring local governments all over the world to establish high security "exclusion zones" into which all toxic abusers shall be placed and confined from the rest of society forever.

The choice is yours!

Ah yes, which raises the whole issue of compulsory membership.

Just because I can be compelled to pay taxes, return my library books on time to avoid a fine and pick up my dog's poop from the footpath, I should not be forced into mandatory membership of the PTSD union. The fees are disgusting, and the benefits are nonexistent.

I was laughing my fanny off by the time I got to the end of your comments!!!

So does this mean that when your demands are met you will embrace PTSD again?:alien:

You have a point, there, Lucycat. Maybe that's why they won't let us have any days off. They're afraid we won't come back!!!

If PTSD weren't so nasty I'd have no problem with upgrading to a full time job. But as things are now, my part time job - of which the contract says it's "20 hours weekly" - really takes up 158 of the 168h that are in a week; so to upgrade to a fulltime job of 38h, a week would need over 300h!

And then they don't even pay overtime 'Take a leave' they say, but you then you can't take a leave because there's just so much stuff to be done, and one month into the new year last year's overtime is forfeited.
