Oh, I hope someone Chit Chats something on the wedding. Yes, I realize there will be some in other countries who will view it as Too Much Fuss but I'm enchanted, I'm sorry! but I'm allowing myself the luxury of 'people-watching' Will and Kate, the preparations, oohh and ahhing shamelessly with the best of them and approve hugely of the bride. :) Off topic, except for the holiday part- sort of ties in? :)

At the risk of sounding like scrooge. I won't be watching. Don't care, too much hype and an obscene amount of money at a time when we are told times are tough and will be tougher still. Spend the money on keeping day centres, leisure facilities, police, fire services open and running.

Oh well, the same was said for the last one. It's true enough, yes. The societal ills Dickens wrote of are alive and kicking. The money will be spent regardless. I'd rather tune into this than whatever else they're spending on we don't need or have a say in like the next space shot, or senseless war. I'm watching because I miss the stuffing out of England where even if it's bad they seem to consider taking care of people of more import than they do here, because for a little while it's an escape into some misty fairy tale from one's girlhood with real prince and princeses get married, because history walks another step through time with this, because they seem like a couple of nice kids, because William's smile gives me a pang since it looks an awful lot like my son's who lives over there now and because once in awhile I wish to just plain get lost in all the above.
