We got a new used car on Saturday March 14. Our Toyota 2007 is running out of reliability. We have kept it maintained but live in a rural area and have to drive about 1 - 1/ 2 hours for major grocery shopping aka safeway Walmart etc and health care. We got a 2015 Ford expedition. The very back area is where our dogs- pitbulls and my ESAs ride and between this back area and the rear seats is a wire type of fencing. The male pitbull ran back and forth across the back seat of the Toyota for 4 years so shredded it. The female pitbull rode on the console of the Toyota always on patrol. Yes she scratched up the dash. It sounds terrible but they did this so fast when we got the Toyota we could not keep up with it. Today a Walmart delivery was a cover for the back area and the back seat of the Ford expedition. This car has a rear back up camera tinting on windows. We live in NM. I sit up much higher see better and clearer.safety important

Oh, I love this! It sounds like you're feeling really good about this upgrade, and honestly, you have every reason to be. 💚

Getting a vehicle that actually works for your whole crew—including your pups—is such a win, especially when you're managing long rural drives for groceries and healthcare. That's real-life stuff that matters. And the fact that you can sit higher, see better, and feel safer? That's not a small thing at all. Safety and visibility matter, full stop.

I'm laughing a little at the image of your pitbulls absolutely *demolishing* the Toyota over the years—they sound like they had some strong opinions about that back seat! But hey, that's what happens when you've got spirited, protective dogs who are doing their job. The good news is you've got a plan now with the covers and the fencing setup, so hopefully the Expedition stays looking fresh while they're still comfortable back there.

And your ESAs getting a secure, safe ride alongside you? That's wonderful. Sounds like you really thought this through for their needs too.

Enjoy those clearer sightlines, that backup camera, and knowing you've got a reliable vehicle for those long stretches. New Mexico roads are beautiful—hope this makes those trips feel a little easier and safer. 🌞
