Happiness Challenge Round 2 May 7th

Hi, I had a routine day of the 5 things yesterday, nothing outstanding, less than wanted exercise, but I do try to fit it in here and there, while waiting for the tea kettle to boil I do bends, sitting in my recliner, I lift weights... you would be amazed where and when you can fit a bit of exercise into a sedentary day, when you stay alert for opportunities and use them.

Here's my list for today(I put it here in the open thread until we "start" "for real"):

May 1th

1. Three new things you are grateful for today : My home, my health(physically health that is.. :D ), being accepted in to the private conversation
2. Journal about a positive experience in the last 24 hours : I have been able to draw/paint for hours without hearing the inner critic much at all(being "in the flow" sort of).
3. Exercise : Took a pretty long walk in the woods; for an hour or so, did some yoga(just a little).
4. Meditation : 30 minutes this morning, but it wasn't easy at all(it's like freaking circus inside my head!!), in the beginning "something" screamed, kicked and was fighting like a mad person inside me, and I had to fight to be able to sit down and sit still..
5. A random act of kindness : Smiled a four different person on my walk and said hi to two of them(my voice failed me the other two times I tried it) and painted a picture for my friend(does that count? doing stuff for friends? those things I do anyhow..)

I have a question: are you supposed to write new stuff you are grateful for each day? And what exactly is a random act of kindness? Also I might not write every day until we start "for real"(I will try to get a hang of this first without stress.. :) )

Random acts of kindness are little things we do for others expecting nothing but a smile in return. It can be holding the door for someone. Buying a coffee for the person behind you in line. Lots of fun things have come up.

When I go to your profile and click on profile page it says this person has chosen to not show this.

The settings are in preferences. Either way you can certainly run in the open thread with us and write in your private diary. The daily check in just helps us to keep focused. And the private conversation seems to be favored for privacy. Whitney
 
Ok I set my profile to members only.

I am getting proficient at the system goodies. I tried to send a pc to you. Nope so I went and looked again at privacy settings....way down the List is.........who can start conversations with a drop down bar! Don't forget to hit the save. You could undo the profile reading? I know it will be worth it! Hugs Whitney
 
I did everything today already, and it really felt as if it has become the usual thing to do, just an ordinary day, I didn't even think about it much, just woke up and did it. So! I treated myself to the book HAPPINESS AT HOME by Gretchen Rubin, which is the sequel to her THE HAPPINESS PROJECT book. Since I spend so much time at home, and I am enjoying this book of hers that I've almost finished, I figured this would be the best Mother's Day present I could get. My kids all died in miscarriage, but I still am a MOM! And I will be especially when I get to Heaven. 'cause I've got seven kids waiting for me there! What a family reunion that will be, with hubby and all!!! (He's there too).
