i guess you have already passed new year's eve? i can never figure out that time thing. anyway, happy new year. i will be in church at midnight, praying the new year in. in know, sounds dull, but it's really very exciting. plus, we get to eat!

Yes, the new year has past here by nearly an hour and a half. Yes, America is nearly a day behind us... ha ha....

That's just creepy... I've never been able to wrap my head around that one... what happens if you're flying in a plane heading towards the western hemisphere, do you go back in time?!? I guess so, because you gain an hour if you fly to BC from here. A hour or two is one thing though... a year is just too weird.

Yer, if I fly from here to the US, basically I land in the US about the same time I took off here. If I fly from the US to here, then I loose nearly a day inbetween. Catch a day going there, lose a day coming back. All to do with where the sun rises across the earth at that one time based on the rotational spin of the earth, hence time zones and opposite seasons.

Yes, but the timezones dont seem to matter though do they? as most of us have trouble sleeping anyway!
