May sound strange this verse, but the days begin to get longer again from the 21st of December in the northern hemisphere. Which is the date of the Winter Solstice and Old Yuletide celebrations are usually between the 20th and the 23rd of December, depending on the movements of the sun.

I always have a candle celebration, even if it's just for myself during that period, for me it represents a great deal of what this season really is suppose to be. It must be at least 11 or 12 years that I've been doing that now.
