This was one of the two ground attacks that happened while I was at Kandahar. Dead Link Removed Feels like only yesterday, I thought about going to the green bean coffee shop the night that it happened but felt something telling me not to go so I stayed in my living area and after the ground attack I was really glad I didn't go. For a while after that it made me wonder what would have happened if I did go. Would I have been one of the individuals injured. Part of me kept thinking I should have been there so it would have been me instead of the person that got injured.

Hey Holden, was it the green bean coffee shop next to the basketball/soccer court? If so man that place seemed to always have a line. We stayed at the big circus tent next to that green bean shop for a month before we pushed out to stay at Bastion/Leatherneck. In 2009 they had alert's along the lines of hey, Some asshole walked onto base with a vest. But... we don't know where he is. So have fun walking around in gear all the time. :)

It's a good thing you weren't there, or else you would have been injured or worse. Not your fault bro. I can recall times even though the green bean was right there, it was too hot or w/e didn't even wanna go. Plus the guys put ex-lax in a coffee I had one time... not cool.

it was the one on the actual boardwalk which was like a haji strip mall to an extent. It wasn't to far away from the tgi Friday's that was never worth eating at. I remember after the ground attack they had caution tape blocking off where the rocket landed but you could still see the blood stain on some of the boards then about a week later they replaced the blood stained boards.
