So, I've had this idea as I've been going through some tough situations, and have been spending all the free time I have crying. So, yea. As it's often said that crying helps you get through it, and heal and so on. Maybe it does?

The idea of this thread is that you can come here at any time and let's say just "check-in" you've been crying, and say why, what happened, what thoughts have been going through your head, how long did you cry, did anyone come and try to help, are you feeling better and similar. Just a bit of place in the cheerful social, for us who sometimes don't have strength to answer any happy social thread.

And yea, I also heard that talking through bad stuff that happened, and saying it, and thus indentifiying it, also it's causes if seeable, can be quite helpful in feeling better and healing. So, hopefully you all find compassion and get better with this thread.

Crying is a no go with my PTSD. It ruins my life.

I have to ignore it if possible and try in site of it. And deal with it in small doses. Everyone is different. I hope you feel better. I would cry over the death of loved ones, the threat of homelessness, having to move and leave a lot, too much pressure and getting dumped on when I'm already overwhelmed.... I talk to friends and they are wonderful but I would cry for them too for having to constantly deal with a stress fest.

I could only cry one tear out of one eye when my husband died, same with when my mother died. When my father died , I sobbed uncontrolably for 20 minutes. I was in church when this occurred, so it got me kicked out of that church! I could not believe it. They said I caused a disturbance. My emotions at that point were way out of control, I could not help it. I had other emotions that came up too, although anger was not one of them. Needless to say, I found another church that welcomed me with open arms. I still go to this church many years later now. And if I cry during church, I try to cry quietly.

I cry when I'm angry and unable to change anything about it.

Otherwise, tears will have to wait.

Also not crying depending on company & weather conditions. If it's likely to be just loss of water / freezing to my face / otherwise messy, I shove it.

@SheilaKathy
I'm so sorry, hopefully the doctor helps, I'm sorry you've been going through all that

Yesterday I was strolling through pages of Harry Potter, and was reminded that Neville Longbottom has surpressed memories of his parents being tortured, who are both in a mental asylum because of the torture. And then cried for the poor fictional boy... I might be a bit too emotional.

Thank you for this thread @Saelben, I find it very compassionate. I am sorry you have been crying a lot too.

@SheilaKathy I hope you are in good hands now, take care so much.

I find crying extremely healing and a necessity. The last half year I have cried almost every day big time and it was the most difficult period of my life, but it did and does clean up a lot of mess inside. I live alone, so I cry alone. I also cried in therapy for most sessions the last half year; sometimes full sessions sometimes just a few minutes.
