This may be a how long is a piece of string questions but....when you have recognised healing happening what did that feel/look/present like for you?

The biggest things/milemarkers are

- When they see me for ME, (and others for themselves), instead of who they’re making up in their head

- When they’re actually making plans and maintaining balance in their life (work/school, friends, romance, physical & intellectual pursuits, sleep & diet).

- When they’re Not being a black & white ball of rage, misery, doom, despair, hateful, spiteful, suicidal, guilt/shame black hole. Nothing is good. Everything is bad.

Over how long? It comes and goes. Over years.

It is STUPID easy to predict when things are about to get really bad, again… whenever one of those balances falls out of their life, and isn’t replaced. In very short time everything just dominos. So what I would looooooove to see are some safety nets being built in, so one area going out doesn’t knock over all every other area.

So that’s the next real mile marker I’d love to see being applied. But first? All the pins/dominos have to be reset from the last bad blow. Before extra pins can be added as safety nets for life being life.

Starting to see this with greater and greater regularity. Not the SI but the ball of rage.

From the sufferer side? As in when did I start to see improvement?
When I:
unpacked my go bag
Didn't find the need to find every exit
stopped assuming there was always a threat
didn't wander the house in the middle of the night
started to let go of my back up plans (yep - plans, plural)
became willing to talk about my traumas in detail (still a work in progress LOL)

Ya - these are all task based, because until I felt safe nothing else mattered. It doesn't do any good to try to fix emotions when the entire world is a threat. So if I can see the things I no longer have to "do" it's easier to see inner healing too
