Well... it explains to me why I'm sitting here shoving a chocolate bar down my throat for some energy... just got my stats from last week: (8hrs sleep is tougher than one may think to achieve)

Oh... I rode 65km during last week, which gave me about 8000 of those steps. Riding gives far less steps than actually walking / running. A 35km ride gave me 5000 in one ride, 3000 in the 30km one, because the second one took longer due to some stops to look around, get lost and a few other deviations, as well as being less in distance.

More chocolate...

My best day last week saw over 20,000 steps and 8+ miles. Inadvertently. I was babysitting the grand kids for the week, they were both in school, so I elected to take the dog, a golden retriever, for a jaunt to the dog park via the forest path. We kind of messed up - the Bugs Bunny line comes to mind - I knew I should have turned left at Albuquerque!" So the uh 5k morphed into whatever 8 miles is in km.

The rest of my days saw mostly over 10,000 steps running after grand kids. All two of them. Between the 2 of them and the dog, it is like herding cats.

For upper body conditioning, if I didn't have the 18 month old slung across a hip, then I was physically removing a thrashing, kicking, screaming three year old from whatever public venue we were attending, or wrestling shoes and socks on or off.

My Fitbit monitors sleep. I was in bed usually five minutes after the kids were down, and up 2 hours before we left for school in the morning. No insomnia for the whole 10 days. And I slept 12 hours my first night home, with a couple of short wake ups punctuating the night.

Today was a respectable 11,000 ish.,That's because I slogged on the treadmill for awhile, otherwise I would have logged maybe 150 steps, lol. I have never reached your calorie burn, though, even on my "big" day last week.

My Fitbit seems to be a Bustbit. I imagine whirling in the washer did it no good, but I reset it, recharged it when it died , and it worked for a month. Up until it died I was getting about 10,000 to 11,000 steps most days. We'll see if I am given a new one. The dongle for wireless tracking fell apart as well. It did not go through the wash though ;)
