Sufferer Hello, diagnosed with ptsd from bike accident. not an easy topic to be discussed....

Hi there, had a bike accident and since then been having nightmares, flashbacks..painful memories popped up on its own. Had surgeries, couldn't remember when was the last time I had a good night sleep. Finally got the news about PTSD and really am glad for finding this site. I was searching through the net about PTSD when I found this site.

I'm still new about this, not much knowledge on it but absolutely want to get better :D
It really is great to have a place where people understand without me explaining it any further.

Pleased to know all of you and I'm sorry if my English is not good. English isn't my native language.

Welcome Aiden. Sorry for what you had to go through to find this place. I'm glad you found it. It is a good place to come and share and learn about Ptsd. You are not a lone here. There are others like you and I here one of my trauma's was a near fatal bike crash and some long difficult surgeries. Lots of resources here to read and learn. Again Welcome

Thank you, yeah..it's a wonderful feeling indeed to have a place where there are people who'd understand..it's hard to explain what's going on to people who do not understand. No matter how hard it is to explain, it just won't work. And thank you for saying my English is good, I'm doing okay..I guess. ;)

Yes, indeed. It's hard to have someone who'd listen without judgement or the mindset of "trying to solve the things they don't even understand". I've met with people like this, and that's exactly when I choose to shut up or change the subject. :dead:

You are very welcome! My children's father is a Greek immigrant, and spoke no English when I met him. I taught him English, but he hasn't bothered to refine it past what I taught him, and it's been 30 years! He still doesn't read very well...

I applaud you for doing your best to speak and write in English! It isn't easy at all!

I hope you are able to continue taking steps toward recovery. It CAN be done! There may always be triggers, but you will learn how to handle those before they take you down. I promise! It is worth the work!!!:hug:
