Hi everyone. I'm Amy. I've been suffering with CPTSD for as long as I can remember, but was diagnosed with it about four months ago. I never knew what was "wrong" with me until I had a severe flashback at work (something I just thought everyone had), which sent me into a downward spiral like I'd never experienced before. From that day on, I was required to attend therapy sessions. There, I learned that my thoughts, reactions, and mannerisms about certain aspects of life weren't "normal," but, rather, a manifestation of the trauma and abuse I suffered through during the entirety of my childhood up until my late teens.

I can't lie and say that every day is a walk in the park, because it isn't. However, I am glad to have the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals who share similar stories or triggers like my own. So, yet again, hello, and I'm glad to meet your acquaintance.

P.S. - I'm sorry this introduction is so long. Once I started typing, I really couldn't stop. It's a rather bad habit of mine.

Hi and welcome!

No worries about the length of your introduction. I didn't find it to be too long....not at all.

Welcome! I'm very interested to hear more from you. My ex also suffers from cptsd, I think it's why he broke it off, but I don't really know anything for sure. Just your introduction alone provided a little insight to what he's been going through. I hope you can find some comfort here.
