Hi.
I'm new here. I served in the Army. I deployed to Afghanistan, but was on medavac out after several months due to a knee injury that I received almost one year prior. After I got back to the US, almost 2 months passed and two of my battle buddies were killed in by an IED. I've had a hard time dealing with all of this.
July 2010 when I went to the VA I was told I had PTSD, and put on meds. I got ill in September and my meds ran out in October, and they would not refill them. So, I have been off of them. I saw some of the meds I am currently on for migraines listed for PTSD. Maybe that is why my nightmares have stopped.
I plan on going back to the VA, and I need to file and get compensation for this PTSD. I also need to see about getting my migraines covered too. I just always run out of time! When I go back to the VA, will they be the people I should talk to about service dogs? I have a HUGE issue with going out in public alone. It is almost impossible for me. Any help would be great. Thanks for listening to my rant.
