anthony, thanks for the encouragement! i think im going to lay off for a while though. its been an eventful and exhausting week full of hope and change. it looks like the lamical is working and i start therapy on tuesday. once i get comfortable with that and set in a routine ill start to share again. once again, thanks so much for the support. also if anyone ever wants to talk, please feel free to hit me up on instant messanger. you can get my screenname in my profile.

hi, everyone! sorry its been so long since i posted but i didnt feel right about posting here without a diagnosis. i was finally tested and diagnosed with ptsd last week. im in counseling, which is going very well, and im on medication that seems to be working. ill probably just be lurking about with an occasional post here and there as im very tired this week from my doctor doubling my lexapro. thanks again for all of the warmth.

Yes, PTSD is incurable; however it is manageable.

I dont think this is a factual statement.
There is no reason to think PTSD is incurable with scientific knowledge of how the brain works, and also common intuition. There is nothing in PTSD that points to being a permanent condition, although many people will have it the rest of their lives.

SP, I think you have A lot to learn about PTSD. The facts are PTSD is incurable. That is a fact.

So where do you get all this knowledge from that you can go against all the research, evidence and education of PTSD?

SP, PTSD is factually, scientifically proven to be incurable. PTSD is a neurological imbalance between the right and left brain hemispheres. Once the imbalance of neurons has taken effect, to date under current medicine has no cure. That doesn't mean a cure may not be found in the future, but at present, right now, it has no medical cure. It is just like AIDS, right now, incurable fatal illness. Doesn't mean a cure may not eventually be found, or a treatment that allows a person with AIDS to live a full life with it kept in isolation, but right now, no cure.

If you are meaning the play on word meanings, then you could say right now there is no cure. A shorter way to say that is, incurable; even though one could take that as no cure ever. Word choice... please don't start those mind games thanks, instead why not just outline it immediately about the choice of words?
