I have been browsing the forum for a couple of days before posting my introduction. The threads seem to have a lot of useful information contained within. I am a supporter (or trying to be) for my boyfriend who has PTSD.
We have been together for about 6 months; he's gradually opened up about his trauma, which I am very grateful for and in return, I wish to become a better supporter of this potentially crippling disorder, to help him in anyway I can and probably more importantly, help myself to not take his outbursts personally and give him the time and space that he needs without feeling emotionally detached.
I look forward to reading and learning from your experience, and hope that with time I too maybe able to offer other forum members some advice on what did or didn't work for me. (or us).
