Hello, I have just found this forum when browsing my condition via Google. I was physically abused by prison officers when still a teenager, at the now infamous Medomsley Detention Center, in Consett, County Durham UK. I was diagnosed a few months ago with Chronic PTSD and only now is my life, and the problems, and issues, that I have experienced along the way starting to make sense. When I was diagnosed it was a great relief to know that I was indeed ill, but it also made me really angry, because others had essentially destroyed my life. I just want to be around other people who know the hell of PTSD, and not be judged.

Hi Charlie - boy, I'm in the UK and grew up not so far from Consett. Welcome to the forum.

Take your time to look around. The articles really helped me and the support and advice from members is amazing. I have made some good friends. It makes such a difference to know that even though our traumas are different our symptoms link us. It is so good to suddenly find somewhere where you are not alone, that others know what PTSD is like.
