Undiagnosed Hello

Hello All,

I'm new to this forum and PTSD. I'm undiagnosed, but I'm considering visiting the folks at the local VA hospital to see if my issues are PTSD related.

I'd like to find out from folks on this forum if my situation is something that would be considered covered under PTSD. Any suggestions where to post?

What do you feel and do on a daily bases that makes you think you have PTSD??

It's mostly anxiety type feelings, frustration, and feelings of remorse. Some of the stress that I carry comes from the feelings that I have from over 30 years ago involving a sexual type assault on my wife when I was active duty. That's about as far as I want to go into it.

I'm so sorry you feel this way!:( I feel those things too. For me it's not hard to talk about it as I feel the more I do the better I feel but everyone is different and you shouldn't feel bad about not wanting to talk about it. No pressure! I hope you can get diagnosed soon so you can understand better why you feel this way and perhaps if you are up to it get treatment.

If possible please see a professional to be diagnosed. There is some great information here as well as support, but self diagnosis isn't an option.

Welcome, John!

There is a lot of great info here on the site, but I urge you to seek professional help as nobody here can diagnose you.

I'm not suggesting self-diagnosis, however there is a list of PTSD criteria that you can read over in order to get a better idea if possibly this is what you are dealing with.

Thanks for all of the welcomes. I met with a VA counselor today and she administered a questionnaire. The results were pretty much what I expected given my research on PTSD. They are going to set me up with an appointment to see a doc next week.

What section of this forum should I go to in order to ask questions and discuss PTSD?
