Does anybody start crying anytime they think about what happened to them/others in their event(s)? I feel like a real puss wheen it happens....sometimes at work. Co-workers have seen this, and I try to say it's allergies! I'm not sure if that excuse works, but it's the only one I can tell them. Is crying part of PTSD, along with all the other crap?
Jay, Yes is the the answer to your question, sort of.
This is just my opinion. A lot of people blame everything on PTSD. PTSD is just a huge umbrella term they use to describe someone who is totally f*cked up, sorry, someone who experiences many multiples of symptoms, you see it is not as easy as asthma or diabetes to explain. They have straight forward symptoms. PTSD has the major ones, Depression, Anxiety, and Stress, then from them come all the others. From anxiety comes teeth grinding, etc. From Stress comes the majority. When your stress cup as they refer to it, starts to overflow, all sorts of things happen. Like heightened anger, hypervigilence, etc.

So your crying could come from survivors guilt from the past, depression, or it could just be all your emotions finally catching up with you, after all you were not allowed to feel anything as a soldier. You would not have been able to get the job done. It could be also from a painful memory working its way to your concious. Keep going to therapy and tell your therapist about these, its the only way to heal.
I am one of the unfortunate ones, I still cannot display or recognise all my emotions yet. I get sort of sad, but don't cry, I get sort of happy, laugh at a few jokes, but am not in a joyful mood for a day. I am working on it though.
Good luck and ask as many questions as you want, every one has a different opinion. Only psychs are qualified to give real answers, apparently.
