I just found this sight after joining the non vet one a little while ago, and I figured this would be a better place since I can't stand civilians. So I'm a former 11B, I did two deployments to Iraq on active, and one Afghan in the guard. Iraq was pretty crazy for me, and I guess messed me up more than I realized. Lately it seems like everything has been going out of control. The last time I was in Iraq was 2006, but 8 years later things are worse than ever. They have always been their but I swear with my marriage falling apart and going back to school things are becoming amplified ten fold. I don't sleep, get angry at everything, hear things that are not there. The normal stuff I guess. So I'll give this a try since the VA only makes me angrier.

I guess I could elaborate more on my record. Just noticed it wasn't very detailed. 3/504 Iraq 2004, 3/504 2005-2006, ONG Afghanistan 2011-2012. As I said Iraq is what screwed me up. In particular the second time since we took a few KIA, but even after I left active it seemed like I just kept losing more and more close friends. Even as recently as last year. Shit just sucks I suppose.

Welcome Wood. Everything you're experiencing normal to what is referred to as the "beast" here on the forum so don't think you're alone or crazy. You got a combat injury and need to work through it, one step at a time. Welcome home. You'll find that lost camaraderie here. Peace!

Welcome Woodsman, pull up a chair. You'll feel more comfortable among fellow vets for sure. Take a tour and meet a group of vets that understand exactly where you are at - we've all been there.

Welcome, woodsman. Life does not have to be a shit sandwich. You do have a choice between whole wheat, rye, or pumpernickel.

Drop a knee.....

Woodsman, welcome.

And as Sarg said, darkness is merely the absence of light - hopefully we can all shed a bit of light on each other's situations.
