Hi, we've been married for 12 years and I am having trouble with being patient with him. I am starting to feel hatred for his unconnected behavior and he gets to hard to talk to. I don't know how to deal with him alot lately. Does anyone have advice?

Hi Ahuva and welcome. I totally understand how you feel and I became increasingly angry with my husband when he would not respond to anything I asked him. In the end I would just yell out at him in the hope of getting any reaction at all, good or bad. Needless to say I always got bad. Since joining the forum I have learned a lot and realise I have made many mistakes. These mistakes have cost me my marriage, we separated 10 weeks ago. It may not be permanent but I don't blame him for not wanting to be around me.

My advice is be as patient as you possibly can and when you can't take anymore, go for a walk or do something nice for yourself. Or just go some where and scream and let it out. I wish I had found this forum a long time ago and maybe I wouldn't have made so many mistakes. I will never fully understand PTSD as I do not suffer from it but at leadt I do now know what not to do.

Good luck, the supporter section is very helpful and plenty of advice to be found.

Welcome to the PTSD Forum! :)

This site is really helpful and full of good information, but I think the best part is the support you will receive from other members facing similar struggles.

Wishing you the best.

Debbie

Welcome to the forum - it has been a life saver so far! Everyone is so supportive and there is so much great advice, information all in one place... it's been amazing. The more you educate yourself and read other posts, I am sure you will find similar things to your story and journey and I hope that you find comfort in that you are not alone and that you do have the power to adjust how you approach the difficulties you are currently facing. Wishing you the best... we are all here for each other! :)

Hi Ahuva, I'm beginning to understand my Wife's issues with my illness and I am working on improving my behavior. Personally I think treatment and improving communication within the relationship can help, welcome to the forum.
