Even before he gets a specialist hospital appointment, his GP, or practice nurse should be able to give him advice on what he should and shouldn't be doing.

He has already been to his GP about this and to the hospital so you would think that at some point along the way they would offer him some sort of advice regarding what to do / not to do. It seems not in this case. He can go back to the GP and ask for further advice but why this has not been given before absolutely dumbfounds me. Roll on the reassessment at a specialist hospital.

Anxious about you and your Dad, I hope he's doing better and making progress toward some healthy life-changes, so he can stay around: a lot longer and in better health!
