I have a lot of acquaintances, and a handful of friends.

When hub was diagnosed with ptsd, we really found out very quickly who his real friends were.
Now that I'm in the same position, I'm going through the same thing. Some are wonderful, some don't give a stuff.

I'm also lucky enough to be able to say that hub is my best friend.

No close friends here. The tv is my friend.....most of the time it's mute, as long as I have "someone" with me. The radio works if the sun is out. I'm absolutely positive that the PTSD has interfered with my ability to make connections - sometimes directly; sometimes indirectly. Last year I was not looking forward to my upcoming move to a new town. So, I picked up a pen and a piece of paper and tried to recall from the age of 12 how many times I have moved, since I couldn' say for sure how many times in the earlier years. It was either 40 or 41 times. Everything is connected. I want to be connected too. But I want to be connected like people who don't have PTSD. I don't want to only feel connected spiritually to the universe.
