General How do I teach my kids about being cautinious of danger but not to much so?

barefoot-I agree about the doom and gloom. That is how my family was and I think it created a lot of fear, particularly in my sister who couldn't even drive by age 30 or so. She would get panic attacks and had to quit work because of this. My mother instilled such fear about things such as drowning while swimming, suspicion of almost everyone, and so much more. None of my sisters will fly in an airplane. Sometimes the effects get worse with age too.

@Never_falter2 and @brat17 - your children sound adorable and so funny.

I agree with everyone else here. I think you will know if you or anyone else is going over the top too far. We all bring our own personal parental biases to child rearing. Unless it starts to get oppressive or just over the top cherish their little spirits and try not to worry too much. Amazingly they all (well most of them) seem to turn out just fine or even better than we expect. lol...

My children really brought me undone with their 'show and tell' sessions at school and I'm still laughing and err blushing.

Your children all sound highly intelligent and bent on your destruction. lol (The common aim of all small children) :hilarious:

I used to implore mine to use your gifts for good not evil... They didn't always take notice but.... that's kids. :)
