During session today, my T appeared to instigate and antagonise one of the parts who has made it known she doesn't like her. But the part cannot come out for a few reasons. She's mean, angry and couldn't care less what the T says to her. But our T tried stirring her up and the pushback was the angry part told her there is nothing more to talk about, end of discussion. Has anyone encountered this and if so, how did you if at all get past it?
On another note, just got out of hospital after surgery. Was horrified to be in a hospital but even more horrified because of the massive efforts to stay silent despite the noise within. Was doing ok until I was awoken at 3am to a nurse needing to do a procedure and it was extremely intrusive and we lost it and went far away. The body sensations were too much and the breathing irregular. Horrified. Very much

One of my insiders has not been out in therapy in probably more than 12 years because a therapist then pushed her and then ridiculed her. She has not trusted therapists since. She is very vocal inside and is a very active and important protector, so it would be beneficial if she would come out and chat, but a lot of additional damage was done by trying to force her to do something she wasn't ready to do, and then by treating her badly once she was out.

Insiders will present themselves when they are ready. I think it's always good to let them know they are welcome, but probably not a good idea to insist.

So sorry to hear about the stress of your hospital stay. Being in the hospital for surgery is tough when you feel like you have to stay quiet - I had the same issue when we had brain surgery. !!! I hope you are doing better today.
