I was thinking about this jibber, I think you are 'right' (at least for some of us). That is what is so 'un-natural' to me about Therapy- I mean I realize one is paying for another's expertise, and the goal is to 'get over it' as much as possible (so to speak), but it seems weird to me, unequal disclosure.
Even as regards MD's, I think I'd be more comfortable with a (Medical) Dr that I knew had had their own struggles, they would understand more, including about the system (in my mind).
Also, I just feel it's 'easier' to talk if you have empathy for the other person- strange as that sounds (?)
I think on a lesser note, when others turn to you (also), you don't feel like such a 'write off', in your own judgment or feelings, if that makes sense (?) More 'normal' ('human').
Anyway, can't recall But I think you are much younger than me, am sorry you've gone through what you have but you've learned more than I have, much younger, or at the very least in general. I think you'll 'heal' great, and have a terrific future despite this ptsd.
((((Hugs)))) to you, and peace. :)
I guess that's it, I think people think they have to be 'strong' to get others to talk, but actually one is more likely to 'talk' sometimes, when others aren't afraid to say they're not strong. Like this forum, for example.
