Hmmm escapism in reading seems to be a popular thing with us.As a kid and teenager I'd spend many of my days reading, quite literally the whole day.Sometimes that would last for up to a week before my friends would drag me out with them.I'm sure if I still had that kind of time I'd still be doing it.
I have problems with depersonalization too as well as derealisation and have noticed that when I'm "not all there" or "zoned out" (as I put it) people, especially my boyfriend, think I'm angry or pusing them away. They say I'm quieter and more reserved, won't talk unless spoken to and I don't always answer questions correctly (like I won't hear and just make up an answer).Sounds like me when I'm absorbed in an interesting book (when that happens now a days,I won't put the book down even while trying to cook or do house work lol).
