How Do You Love Yourself?

The exact same way I despise myself. If I can hate myself? Then I can feel something about myself, already all nice and proven. Unlike the people I annoy, I can't just walk away from myself, I'm stuck with me. So might as well make the best of a bad situation, and either become a person I can like, or change my perspective about the things I loathe so much.

Like with anyone, it takes time.

What do you love? Become that.
 
@theotherside, I've read the book. If you liked Wild, I'd recommend Tracks by Robyn Davidson.

However, you may want to start with The Book of the Vision Quest by Foster and Little. You can also check out the School of Lost Borders on the web. Although I don't exactly follow what they're doing exactly, its close enough to give me amazing insights.
 
What helps me:
1. Adapting developmental psychology beliefs, to myself, which state that each person is good, and is doing the best they can.
2. Helping my body compassionately align with #1, I practice the Alexander Technique, that helps me release body tension. With my body supple, it is easier to touch upon self-love.
3. Staying in touch with friends who always ask me to be in touch with my best qualities.
4. Reading and posting one this forum, I feel I am not alone.
