How Do You Vent?

I used to journal and have, on many occasions, written letters that I have never sent. At the end of getting it all out, I have just deleted it.

I like the idea of writing the name on your shoe - but that would make me want to tread in dog poo and I'd really rather not LOL
 
Punching bag, going somewhere isolated like in your car on a quiet highway or empty parking lot and screaming your lungs out, screaming into a pillow, hanging out with my dogs - I talk to them about my problems and the sit there and listen and head tilt. Exercise is a must for me if I don't get enough of it I get a lot of build up frustration which either comes out as anger or anxiety and can affect my basic needs like sleeping and eating.

Oh yes! It is the best "medication". I walk every morning, and think it is the only thing that allows me to get over the terror monsters that accompany my sleep.
 
I definitely haven't been getting enough exercise lately - aside a giant blizzard hitting and not having any sidewalks for two weeks and it being -20C since around Christmas. My fatigue got the best of me and I did absolutely nothing for a few months - slowly building a routine that I can maintain. I always end up taking on more than I can juggle and then I end up a sniveling mess.
 
She thought that would help me work through the anger or actually feel it. I haven't tried it yet.
I tried it. It makes you feel lost somewhere and sometimes I got more angry,too.

Best way would be to set a diversion and not to respond to anger. Just sit without doing anything. that might sound like feeling it, but do little bit different. Try to sit with it. Make peace with it.

Anger management is very hard.
 
I could learn something from all of you. Some of your coping ways make me think anger isn't so bad after all. I've got to learn not to get pent up with it. It gets turned inward and can have disastrous results.

You can do this around people too. Just turn up the radio and people will just think you are singing off tune and don't know the words. ;)
