How Long To Adjust To New Antidepressant?

Captain, I am surprised that you managed to stay on it for a whole year. And I know exactly how you felt getting off cold turkey instead of tapering off. I was told to just stop Methadone (for pain control) because it was only 5 mg. I was in hell, that's for certain.
I am not feeling too well at this moment in the transition back to Cymbalta. Can I whine?

Whine away!! It's not a long term solution, but sometimes it's all we can do until we get it out of our system. So go ahead, I'm sure I'm not the only one who'll listen and relate.

Hope you start feeling better soon. My withdrawals were worst for the first two weeks (off work, praying for death), then slowly got better over a few months, but I was on quite a high dose. Hopefully yours will be easier.

2 hours of sleep last night because of nerve pain and worrying about how busy and hard today is going to be. I have gone up the chain at the VA to complain about how the pharmacy screwed up my prescriptions 3 times on Tuesday, so I have a meeting with an upper echelon person today in which I assume she will continue the insincere appology / coverup / denial that they did anything wrong.
This involved giving me the wrong dose that put me in the ER.

It's going to be a confrontational day, and I am in pain, not enough sleep, and in a rotten mood.

Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time 2quilt. Effexor is one of the worst for side effects and definitely for withdrawal. I hope you find better care because that is inacceptable. Hope you get to feeling better.
