How Often Do You See Your Therapist?

I have been seeing my therapist biweekly for about 2 months now. More than anything because of cost. I've reached the point in therapy where my anxiety is sky high at night, T says it is my subconscious bracing itself for EDMR. So I have sleepless nights and then frazzled days because of the sleepless nights.
I'm wondering if it would be better to have sessions more often, kind of in the hopes of getting it all over with.
Have any of you experienced this? And is there a light at the end of the tunnel with this anxiety?

I see my therapist weekly and I find that helps with my anxiety. You could try it and if it doesn't help then go back to bi-weekly.

Oh yeah I'm not doing emdr. I just get anxiety about therapy.

There is light at the end of the tunnel but you can't rush to get there. Healing takes time. As long as you feel comfortable with your therapist and feel you're heading in the right direction, then together you'll get to where you want to be in however long it takes. I never look at the end, it's the process that heals.

Take care

I don't do EDMR but I was seeing her bi-weekly then things got a bit worse for me so now I'm seeing T weekly.

I fluctuate. Pay out of pocket so a lot depends on budget. But I have biweekly standing appointments. Last week I saw her twice. This week once. We'll see about next week. I do Somatic psychotherapy that includes emdr

In theory, fortnightly. In practice, about once a month. Sometimes, though, illness/vacation shifts that to every other month.

I'm not working on trauma, though. I'm working on stabilization. I've been told once trauma stuff starts, bare min for me & where my head is at is 2 hours a day, 3 days a week. Maybe more.

I see mine weekly which is probably not enough right now but all I think she can stand. Lol. Good luck... I think it is worth a conversation with yours to discuss the options.

Weekly.
Then twice weekly.
Then overwhelm.
Then a break.
Then weekly.
Going back to twice weekly.

One x per week is easier; twice a week, I feel like Im digging in and going deep. Very different scenarios.
