How To Handle Recent Time Loss While In Dissociated State?

I am dissociated right now. I have been really numbed out for two days. I remember part of last week, and almost nothing of the rest of December. I know I was in the hospital, because I have one memory of it, and lots of bills and notes. I even posted on FB about it. I texted a couple friends too.

Tonight, I may see a couple of friends and I need advice on how to deal with this time loss. I haven't seen them since November, prior to my hospital stay. I don't really know how to handle this. This is extremely uncommon for me. If I lose time, it's usually 30minutes - an hour, max.

I tend to eventually gain back the time loss for recent events when I come out of the dissociation. I keep grounding, but it's not working yet to pull me out of this. I keep running into the numb-flood cycle - where all the emotions come back as I ground, and then I numb out more, and then I get flooded, and then I numb out... I'm trying to break the cycle. It will be the best way to handle the time loss over the long haul, but right now, I need a plan for today, tonight.

I would not be making plans to see people, if it were me. I'd focus on taking a walk, drinking cold water, and arranging for someone else to do the cooking and shopping.

When I'm like that, I drop knifes and cut myself, so it's not safe for me to cook much.

Maybe you got put on sedatives in the hospital, and they are keeping you dissociated. I'd have a supporter call the nurse and find out what might be contributing to dissociation and what they recommend. Being over-medicated will do this to me.
