How To Help Myself/in-patient?

I have recently been diagnosed with complex trauma and the co-morbid disorders bulimia nervosa (non-purging), OCD and major depression. Presently, suicidal ideation is taking over my life and the levels of stress in my body are rendering me unable to work. I refuse to submit to this illness but it has fought back against me and is causing me endless inner turmoil. I have just begun a course of trauma based CBT using some aspects from DBT but at present I don't even feel I'm in the mindset to respond to these treatments. Should one consider in-patient treatment to get on course with meds etc. and to treat the eating addiction or should I just perceive with the therapy? I just feel that I need more help that I am currently receiving.

I would tell your T how intrusive the suicidal thoughts are...I can't guarantee that in patient would be the best option for you, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be either...definitely bounce your ideas about this off your T

There is inpatient but would your current psyche dr be your treating dr?? You might also consider out-patient programs which are 5 days a week, anywhere from 5-8hrs a day. Those can be very helpful.

As Complex suggested, speaking to your tdoc would help.

Trust your gut... you know what you need, you just have to trust your own instincts. If your instincts are telling you to get committed temporarily, then do it... because your self protective mechanisms are ringing the alarm bells. If you're just having a tough time with symptoms and ideation, then you really need to probably just start getting stuck into educating yourself on PTSD... because you are right, one or two sessions a week will not get your better from PTSD.
