How To Wake Up A Sleeping Person with PTSD?

Manic, DH usually means "dear husband" or "darling husband" (or I suppose it could also be "damn husband) :wink: I was just being lazy and using chatspeak...bad me...

As a side note, I learned that one when I was on a sewing forum, and also had to ask. Then it got really confusing as they used things like DDIL (dear daughter-in-law) and acronyms for just about every other family member you could think of :rolleyes:

Yeah, DH could mean damn husband depending on the moment. LOL is laughing out loud, ROTFLOL is rolling on the floor, and there are many more.

We must never give up on the husband training, Lisa. Like water over rocks, it may take thousands of years, and many generations, but we have trained some men to send us flowers and candy, and to care about our feelings. Most of them are trainable.

I have also grabbed my husband's lips to wake him up to tell him I had injured my spine, but he shook me off and continued sleeping. He needs alot more work.

My husband calls me in the morning - AFTER he has left the house for work. Funny before my diagnosis all we knew was everytime he woke me up at home we would end up in a huge fight because I was so on edge. It didn't take him long to figure out if he called after he had left it was safer for him. LOL. But regardless, it does work.

To wake up a person with PTSD use a big stick to poke them and have an escape plan to run like hell!!!:rofl:

Anyways that is how it works in this house.. LOL

Becvan wins for the BEST WAY TO WAKE A PERSON W/ PTSD!!! AhHAhahhaha! LMAO!

Seriously though, if he's coming to bed after you, I would ask him to call out your name or his pet name for you. Hearing him call out the familiar "sweety?" would probably wake you enough for him to come to bed without losing his eye balls- or his other :-O

My sleeping pills knock me out so hard that its almost impossible to wake me up. My girlfriend was feeling a little frisky and wanted some action so she cuddled up next to me and i even got it up in my sleep! I could have been the first male victim of date rape. I woke up startled but it was worth it! :) I guess its only funny to me because I don't have PTSD from being a sexual assault victim and I'm a dude.

DH=Dear Husband

me thinks ;-)

I had a really spiffy Now and Zen alarm clock until it prematurely broke. Gurrrr

Same with the DH, also. ;-/

But...it, the clock had a really spiffy countdown bell alarm clock. I just searched google under "meditation timer" you can find some thing that can be set for 5 mins say and sets a nice bell tone every so often until the time is up and it runs like an pleasant alarm. Or you can set it 8 or whatever hours ahead to wake you normally. I loved that thing...yeah both. ;-)
