I am not going to use this forum to discuss the details of my trauma. Suffice to say I experienced an occupational stress injury which led to a diagnosis of PTSD in 2005.

I like to think I have PTSG - Post Traumatic Stress Growth (google this / there is a self test/good for self esteem). I try and spend less time focusing on my suffering and more time focusing on my thriving. I can’t say that because of PTSD my life is better. PTSD was not on my wish list. I can say that PTSD has changed my life, and in ways that have surprised me. I am a different person but I am functional, happy, and I am moving forward in recovery.

I am delighted to have found this area to post in. To everyone who has posted, your accomplishments are inspiring. I hope to use this inspiration to continue my growth. You are all awesome people. Cheers.

That is really awesome!
I'm at a point as well where it is really important for me to actively seek out the positive. Going through the stories, I need to do that sometimes when they come up, but I prefer not to have to do that, but it's very important to keep balance. I know if I get too stuck in victim-state, it really errodes my self-esteem and my sense of achievement and can build more fear if I over feed it too much.
Thanks for the tip re: Post Tramatic Stress Growth-- I like it and I'm going to check that out.
Cheers,
Nishkaa
