For decades I've sought treatment for the PTSD that invaded me as a little kid. I realized decades later that the invasion actually depletes the coping chemicals my body naturally produces. Now I am completely depleted. No "feel good" chemicals are left in my body.

I thought all that treatment and knowledge was enough to support me through a life-altering car crash a year ago, but I was wrong. That wreck robbed me of everything I cherished, and it took away everything that I worked 40 years to build for myself.

I found this site today, as I looked for some reason why I should keep sucking up air, and all I can say is that I've read things that sound like I wrote them. So it is a relief to have found you, albeit you are suffering a similar hell to my own, and for that I am beyond sorry.

But this is an introduction, one I must make, so here it is. Thank you for the understanding that you are able to pass along.

Welcome. I bet your adrenals are exhausted....That is called Addisons Disease at its worst (my sister has it) and left undiagnosed at least. But I really know how you feel because I feel the same, an indescribable fatigue!

Im glad you found a reason to keep sucking air. You have a purpose here and it does get better!

Did you have ptsd before your accident? It sounded like you did but I just wanted to clarify if you don't mind.

Yeah brat17, I've had ptsd way before the wreck. Arrogantly I figured I knew enough about managing PTSD, so it never occurred to me that I may need to see a head doc, while I easily went and saw TONS of other docs post-wreck.

l wonder if it is my fractured mind or my adrenally fried cortisol flooded body that is 25 years older than my ID says. This AGES you!

I was only diagnosed with ptsd after a head injury at age 48....but they tell me I had ptsd before. I had some symptoms before but was high functioning. After-not so much. That seemed to bring out my symptoms.

Did you injure your head? Even if you didn't, accidents seem to bring about symptoms of ptsd.
