Stick with the therapy, and non-medicinal efforts to control your anxiety.

grounding skills, relaxation, mindfulness, thought stopping

Sometimes we do need meds to function, but they are only a band-aid.

I'm not against medication, but perhaps try and see else what might help first. Once you've exhausted all the options described by Justmehere above, and you still need more help, then think about medication. I don't know your history, or your trauma, but medication alone can't cure PTSD. Nor will it allow you to manage it in the long term. Medication may help with the ability to undergo trauma therapy, which in itself could be one step closer to managing your PTSD.

Cannabis may well offer some relief to to some people. But don't be convinced that cannabis is side effect free. It is addictive, and can cause anxiety, paranoia, mood issues, depression, sleep problems, etc etc.

I like what cherryblossom wrote. I know people who have had flashbacks, freakouts and general negative experiences with cannabis. I also know a couple of permanent "cannabis casualties" who have taken it beyond their personal limit, thinking it was positive, and are basically fried. As in, they're always going to need help with basic things like housing and money.

in the end, cannabis is still a kind of medication. And like any medication it has possible benefits and possible side-effects. Both need to be weighed up carefully.

As before, I wonder what non-medication alternatives have been tried, consistently? And what the result was.
