Ronin: Betrayal is one thing. In a certain sense you get used to it. This time the magnitude caught me off guard. I couldn't trust ANYONE. Being too f*cked to work has luckily given me perspective.

As for the question, I realized that the insincerity out there is ridiculous. I don't mean just you and the new barista sharing a few fake laughs every morning, I mean between you and someone you know, a coworker, a date, even family. People are so f*cking fake. It makes meeting people exhausting and irritating. And it's destroyed sane, dignified dating forever.

Yeah, but here's the thing: Not all of them, and /you/ aren't fake. If you aren't, you'll find people who aren't, either.

It 'just' gives you a multitude of things to not trust the same in about, in the same ways, or the same types of people.

(Not optimism talking. Just not a fan of a few douchebags destroying people's belief in ALL of the people. Because the douches aren't all there is, and now is not forever, now is just f*cklong.)

True. The negative power of the douche in ratio to his actual influence has always baffled me. My apologies if I came across that way.

I find it hard to meet genuine, sincere people because if and where they exist they often get oversdaowed by the douche/douchette. Like me. I think I'm genuine and sincere. I know my faults and limits. It's like this kind of small insight into your self is a bad thing and you wear it like a scarlett's letter. So ya I have no doubt good, kind, earnest people are out there. Is their a secret handshake?
