I Think My Ex Mocked My Wedding

Right down to the guest list. I was on Facebook and her wife came up as someone I may know. I went to her page to check things out.

They had the same amount of guest and the same ones that had the same connection to both of them.

They did the hand tieing ceremony first, then the sand pouring ceremony.

I could.just be.jumping to conclusions, right?

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. It may not have been intended in a mocking way. But if it was - well bugger em.

Does it make sense that your ex would make her special day all about you?

No.

Wedding traditions are so common. I'm sure there are tonnes of weddings that are very similar, even those that try to buck tradition and do their own thing.

I have been dealing with a family crisis that past 48 hours. I am exhausted so I think I may be reaching but wow! I just wanted to throw it up so I can sleep.

I think the crisis you are dealing with is probably affecting your ability to be objective at the moment. I am so sorry for whatever you are going through and I hope it is something that can turn out well in the end.

I can't say much about the number of guests but hand fasting and sand pouring are part of current wedding ceremony trend. It seems like everyone is doing that right now. It is THE ceremony for those who want to distance themselves from tradition christian ceremonies.

I agree with @Fadeaway - do you feel like your family crisis is maybe making you panic about things?

Reason I ask - it would take the average person being in a pretty self-confident headspace to check out their ex's wedding pics and not find that a bit of an emotional challenge.

We do odd things to distract ourselves to cope with crises - I'm not sure Facebooking your ex is one of the better distraction options right now...

Yes, I do agree. I believe I am reaching due to the lack of sleep and family crisis.

I am staying away. I wouldn't have reached out regardless. I more wanted to share my warp thinking so it wouldn't keep me up all night.

I was more so looking for that your thinking is going down the wrong road, keep going on the right path type of reinsurance.

I know I am a freak...

I learned that during the honeymoon, they was a humming bird that was hanging around and she gave him the same name of my step-father.

When we first met, I was taking care of my stepfather at the end of his life. She had never seen a person that close to death and die. It made it too difficult to talk to her parents about their end of life. She took it really hard.

When we moved in together, we had a small amount of humming birds we would watch, feed, talk too. They would get close to us.

Again, my mind is crazy today dealing with my family crisis and my own person crisis now. Hearing this was just a little like :confused::banghead::wacky::stop:

This is the first time I've heard of the hand tying/ sand pouring thing. Learn something new everyday
