If we know the person's tender spots we can damned near eviscerate them with a few words. And it's purely because of the idea that it's "just words" that renders them even more powerless.

I look forward to the day when people realize what kind of damage can be caused by the wrong words in the right ear and stop dismissing those carrying their own scars.
