Even with kids ... remember to put on your oxygen mask first in order to assist them with theirs. Right? We need to put ourselves first at times ... because looking after our loved ones requires this from us.

I have put a few pennies around the forum today ... back to my piggy bank to see if there is any more change I can plug in to the PTSD meter! LOL.

Absolutely! 'Cause unless we take care of ourselves we're not gonna be good to anyone else. I need to remember that. I really do.

My children are included in that oneness and are with me. This is something I have to learn. I wrote this and then went to bed and was triggered with flashbacks. So it's not easy for me either. But it was some sort of good thought. Helped me think of ways to battle this PTSD. It can be so big sometimes. And I won't be able to see my kids as much I need to, if I am overcome with the anxiety and depressions. They need me to overcome it and keep on living.

This thread cheers me up. Not even sure completely why. Such a "simple" idea of putting oneself first (along with what we treasure/value ... our kids) ... brings a renewed determination to "beat PTSD"!

We can concur this! Not easy ... but maybe we can grow in stages towards more inner-acceptance and satisfaction/ happiness?
