I am a nurse in the High Arctic. I am currently off on "sick leave" due to signs and symptoms of PTSD and/or ASR. It is a very long process, but I am taking all the advice of doctors, social worker etc.
I have had great support from family, friends and co workers. I just have one question...
Why do agencies such as Workers Compensation...Insurance Companies...and Employment Insurance not believe that it exists? Why should we have to go through the added stress and anxiety on our lives to try and prove that we need help, just for someone sitting behind a desk can tell me that "it's part of my job description."
Any thoughts on this? Any other nurses in Canada having the same issue?
Thanks.
